#24. Checkbook Cover

It’s October. I’m 6 projects behind. I have the biggest, hardest, most daunting project coming up this month. From the 20th thru the 28th, I’m booked with a wedding, a vacation and a football game, in addition to work and school. I’m afraid I won’t make it to my goal of finishing 75 projects by Dec 31. My mom suggested just writing on my blog that “I overestimated the amount I could do and adjusted my goal to 50.” That’s not good enough for me. I set myself a challenge and I’m going to finish it, even if I have to spray paint my hair to count as a project (Okay, I won’t go that far, but you get the idea.)
With all the sewing I’ve been doing, I’ve been accumulating a nice amount of scrap fabric. Instead of spending more money on fabric, I’ve decided to focus on using what I’ve got to make some cool stuff.
Last night I whipped up a cover for my checkbook using some leftovers from my chevron skirt.
I braided some embroidery thread and sewed it on with a button to make a nice closure.
Cost: Free! Leftover fabric, some thread and a button I already had.
