56. Wine bottle candle holders- A tutorial

MOMMY, STOP READING OR YOUR PRESENT WILL BE RUINED!!!

BE SAFE WITH THIS PROJECT, BECAUSE IT INVOLVES FIRE AND SHARP GLASS! KEEP SMALL CHILDREN AND PETS AWAY AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROPER SAFETY GOGGLES AND SUCH!
For this project you will need:
- A wine bottle (or any bottle of your choosing)
- Rubbing Alcohol
- String
- Fire
- A sink full of cold water
Step 1:
Prepare your bottles by removing all labels and such. Soak your string in rubbing alcohol.
Step 2: Fill your sink with cold water
Step 3: Remove your string from the rubbing alcohol and wrap around the bottle several times. Make sure it is in place where you want the bottle to cut.
Step 4: WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES FOR THIS STEP AND BE SAFE ABOUT IT!!! Light the string on fire. Be sure to hold the bottle side ways and rotate it several times so the fire heats it thoroughly. HINT: Use a separate person for lighting than for soaking and wrapping. I soaked the string and my wrapped it, then Aaron did all the fire stuff. That way we made sure there were no fingers with alcohol on them anywhere near the fire.SAFETY FIRST!!!!!!
Step 5: After the fire has been on for a while and you’ve heated all the way around, gently submerge the bottle in the sink full of cold water.  Make sure the fire is completely extinguished. You should hear a pop of the bottle breaking in half. BE CAREFUL OF SHARP EDGES!!!
My bottle actually broke at the top and bottom of the string, so be careful of that extra piece.
Step 6: Sand the top so it is not sharp and place your candle inside!
My bottle is a little concaved inside, so I plan on getting some vase filler so the candle will sit flat.
There you have it. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE BEING SAFE WITH THIS!!
